MoMA from my phone

Unfortunately I’m not jetting off to New York this weekend, however I have just been able to delve in to The Museum of Modern Arts collection  from the comfort of my own sofa while chowing down on Chinese food. (which would definitely be frowned upon in a gallery).

Most of the top museums have there own accompanying apps available for visitors.  While in London I used the British Museums app as a guide, however honestly I was not a fan. I love the concept of bringing museums right up to date and information at your finger tips is never a bad thing. However I found the British Museums app lacking in any additional  information it seemed just to be a digital map. (It may of improved by now as these things are constantly updated).

MoMAs app however was a joy: clean and simple, I could easily scroll through all the different galleries and listen to audio commentary on the art work.

So hopefully one day I’ll be able to visit actual the MoMA, but in the mean time I’ll just digitally stroll through it.

As I said most major museums now have apps so make sure you download one before you visit to see if it enhances your experience at all or just have a tour round the Louvre, National Museum of Western Art or even the National Museum or Korea via your handset.
